Uponobserving Massey's sculptures, the first thing that meets the eye is thejuxtaposition of a reflective, geometrically shaped metal, and a delicate nudehuman figure. This Juxtaposition may initially seem violent, as the geometricalform with its sharp metal edges appears to be cutting right through the defenselessnude. However, a longer gaze reveals that in fact, above and beyond theapparent antagonism between the two juxtaposed elements there resides asuperior complementary collaboration or equilibrium.
